Deacons are a vital part of church ministry. As the word "deacon" means to serve, our deacons are committed to this local body to serve in this Biblical capacity. Mike & wife Terry Borland, Jack & wife, Janet Browning, Tim Canterbury,  Paul & wife, Jackie Menz and Fritz & wife Terrie Nihiser are some familiar faces you can count on seeing each time you enter Calvary Baptist Church.

Deacons

Pastor Matthew Nihiser and his wife, Jill, have been serving as pastor and wife at Calvary Baptist Church since August, 2001 Pastor Nihiser was born in Lancaster and has been a member of Calvary since his baptism at the age of six.  He attended Cedarville University (1997-2001) and graduated with a degree in Pre Seminary.  Jill was born in Indiana, but moved to Lancaster at the age of four. She also has been a member of Calvary since her baptism at the age of six. Jill also attended Cedarville University (1997-2001) and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education.  Pastor and Jill were married June, 2001, shortly after graduation. Pastor Nihiser was asked to candidate in July, 2001 and was voted in by the church August, 2001.
